Officer Catlett was staking out the house of a man wanted on a quarter of a million dollar domestic violence arrest.  At approximately 9 in the morning, he saw a car stop in front of the suspect’s house and a man matching the suspect’s description get out. Officer Catlett approached the man and called out the suspect’s name; the man answered accordingly indicating that he was indeed the wanted suspect. When Officer Catlett attempted to detain the suspect, the suspect started running down 23rd, tripping when he got to Deharo Street.  Officer Catlett tried to tackle the suspect there, but in the attempt landed on his hand severely spraining his fingers.  However, unwilling to let the suspect escape, Officer Catlett continued to struggle, with the suspect, using both pepper spray and his baton, until he could get the suspect handcuffed.  The suspect was booked on 5 felony domestic violence offenses and one misdemeanor offense from the warrant as well as felony resisting arrest at Bayview Station.
