Potrero Hill, San Francisco

A neighborhood guide for Potrero Hill, San Francisco

Bayview Officers Olson, Luedtke, Kwan, and Sgt. Perez were driving on 22nd St when they noticed a Mercedes ahead of them displaying false registration.  The attempted to stop the car but the driver led the Officers on a 15 MPH “chase” for about a mile.  At a stop light the Officers exited their vehicle and stopped the man.  The man stated three things: 1) He had pulled over to let the Officers pass but did not know they were trying to stop him.  2) His Driver’s License was valid. 3)  He had never been arrested in San Francisco.  It turns out his license was suspended and he has an extensive arrest history.  When the Officers brought the man back to Bayview station the man claimed he had pneumonia and needed immediate medical care.  Ironically the Officers remembered that the man had been smoking a cigarette when they finally stopped him on the street.  After a brief fainting spell the man was cited and released from the station.  His car was towed.
