Attempted Robbery, Stolen Automobile, Found Gun
13 Feb 2006Numerous Bayview Officers responded to the area of Watchman Way on report of a robbery. It was learned that a man had parked his car and was walking to a friends’ apartment went he was approached by a male who said, I got your a$# now,” and brandished a handgun at the man. Two other men approached the victim from behind. Fearing that he was going to get shot he dropped the keys to his rental car and ran the other way. The victim made it to an apartment and closed the door. His attackers banged on the door and yelled, “We got your car, now we want your money.” The victim described waiting for approximately ten minutes before calling the police. Numerous people were detained but the victim stated that they were not involved in robbing him.
While Officers Ferraez and Fowlie were canvassing the area for evidence they found a shotgun, live ammunition, part of a pistol, and a spent cartridge casings. The evidence was seized and being analyzed by Crime Scene Investigations. It has yet to be determined if there is a connection in the above incident.
