Hot Prowl Burglary
12 Jan 2006Officers responded to the 700 block of Carolina on a report of a burglary in progress. The officers met with the owner of the house who told him that he came home and closed, but did not lock, his front door. He went to the kitchen to prepare a snack, but then heard someone come into the house. He went to see, expecting his wife, but instead saw “a strange black man” inside his house, looking through his stuff. The suspect then fled out the open front door. He could not provide any further description of the suspect.
Note that this victim was also the victim of another burglary the previous year. The moral here is that you should lock your doors so strangers do not come into your house.
